Salem-Roanoke County
Chamber of Commerce Foundation
Established in 2002, the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce
Foundation, Inc. was created to assist the Chamber of Commerce in
strengthening the development and growth of the Chamber’s
activities. By providing educational scholarships from the business
community and assisting in fund-raising for the renovation project
of the Carriage House in Longwood Park, the Foundation has emerged
as a community leader. Driven by hard-working citizens, business
owners, and volunteers, the Foundation has reduced the outstanding
debt from the original $250,000 to under $50,000.
This Foundation is now noted for presenting the public with well-established events by hosting the ShrimpFest and the Gingerbread Festival each year. Back for the second year, the Wine & Unwind Wine Festival will be returning to Lewis Gale Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark. These events add to the quality of life in the community and raise awareness of the progress that is being made by the Foundation. Most importantly, the increased focus on scholarships proves the events to be worthwhile. For more information about the upcoming events, please look at our Calendar page.
